Description

Synthesis and characterization of thermally and photoreactive resins (phenol, epoxy and vinylester) and multicomponent polymeric materials (polymer blends, composites, interpenetrating and semi–interpenetrating polymer networks), thermal and photochemical stability of polymers and polymer based materials, polymeric materials derived from renewable resources (wood, vegetable oils). He has a Ph.D. in Chemistry (1997) from the Romanian Academy, under the supervision of Acad. Prof. Cristofor I. Simionescu (Contributions to the study and applications of phenol–formaldehyde resins). He has published over 105 scientific articles. The total number of citations is 2370 and h–index 26. He is a member of the Romanian Chemical Society (SChR) since 2000 and has won the Romanian Academy Award “Costin D. Nenitescu” in 2002 (Epoxy–acrylic novolac resins based on p-alkyl substituted phenol). He is editorial board member and guest editor for the journal Polymers (MDPI).
